Abstract

One of the necessary realities in the basic construction of the human being, in relation to himself and to others, consists in the articulation of the guiding principles of life as referents of fulfllment and their understanding related to the meaning of life, suffocated by shortness, crisis and transience of fulfllment of expectations. In his time, Seneca warns of this reality around the vision of life; therefore, understanding the art of living in the perspective of principles and values, in the current world invaded by fleeting situations and media, continues to provide horizon to life and what is to be done.

In this reality of changes and transformations, where individuals do not want limits or borders, it is a challenge to use the right principles that, according to Friar Guillermo de Castellana OFM Cap., are those that lead to the development and fulfllment of a person. Thus, the meaning of life demands a solid foundation on which to build, despite the brevity, fragility and uncertainty of our current world.

From this perspective of understanding, this article proposes to make philosophical contributions based on the essential elements presented by these two thinkers who converge in what turns out to be an alternative in the educational process, in times of consumerist suffocation and uncertainty.
