This reflection article focuses on the importance of citizenship education in early childhood and the contributions of neuroscience in child development. This constitutes an educational opportunity to lay the foundations, from the beginning, of a citizen exercise that allows the enjoyment of freedom and participation in public affairs with full guarantees of expression and responsibility. Thus, it is possible to construct a society increasingly committed to the common good and the care of children.
